What Advice Would You Give Yourself?
by Brock Meadows
on Apr 09 2024
You certainly do not have to be an Ohio State football fan or follower of the game to want to know this story. It’s one that I remembered hearing on the news shortly after it happened. And one that I will never forget after hearing more about what happened from the man himself, 17 years later.
This is the remarkable story of Tyson Gentry—a tale of courage, perseverance, and the unwavering strength of the human spirit. It's a narrative that will leave an indelible mark on your heart and inspire you to face your own challenges head-on.
Tyson grew up cheering for Ohio State and his dream was to play for the Buckeyes. He set goals, worked hard, and eventually earned the opportunity to be a part of the team he loved.
Tyson was a preferred walk-on (receiver/punter) for Ohio State in 2004. During a team scrimmage his sophomore year in 2006, he sustained a C-4 spinal cord injury resulting in him being paralyzed, losing all movement and sensation from the neck down. After surgery, he regained limited mobility in his arms.
Gentry never lost consciousness on the practice field. He remembers making the catch in traffic and getting tackled. He remembers his head hitting the ground. He remembers his neck snapping. Then came the worst concern any player can have for himself.
"I knew something was wrong right away," Gentry said. "But at the same time, I wanted to give it a few seconds and hope it just went away. I didn't know if it was a stinger or what.
“It didn’t go away. Then, everything sinks in slowly."
This is where my mind begins to race with thoughts of devastation, disbelief, pain, and righteous anger. One, if I was in his position, two if he was my son. I simply can’t find the words for how I’d feel let alone handle the situation.
Again, I share this from the perspective of physically being in the same room with Tyson, seeing him in his wheelchair, hearing him recall the moment it happened and the many moments in the hospital that followed.
I’m sorry if this breaking your heart and makes you feel a bit uncomfortable, but I promise there’s something super amazing coming.
While being scared, hurt and sad, he shared that only one-time, a few months after the accident did he have a problem with the, ‘Why me?’ part of it.
If you’re like me, you have to be asking, How is that possible?
Yes, Tyson had the love and care of his amazing family by his side. Yes, he and is family had unwavering faith and knew God was there with him also. He had tremendous support from Coach Tressel, the entire coaching staff, teammates, and Buckeye Nation.
Thousands of letters came pouring in encouraging Tyson, letting him know he was on the minds, hearts, and in the prayers of many people. However, as time passed the amount and frequency of those cards and letters decreased.
His parents saw him slipping into a depressed state, and begin to struggle with the very natural question – Why me?’
That’s when his parents came across another encouraging note that they shared with Tyson. It was short, but powerful…
“Never give up. No matter how much adversity you face. You can always overcome anything. There are many people who believe in you.”
There was no name written on the note, but those words and that perspective reframed his attitude and lifted his spirit. That message meant so much to him, he pinned it to the message board in his room and read it often for the next few days.
Now, here's the kicker: that note wasn't from some anonymous well-wisher. It was Tyson's own words, penned during a tough time in his freshman year at Ohio State. Talk about a full-circle moment, right?
So, let me pose a question to you: what message would you write to yourself in your darkest hour? Take a moment to ponder that, because as Tyson's journey teaches us, sometimes the greatest source of strength lies within ourselves.
"It puts a lot of things in perspective," Tyson said. "Before I was injured, I looked back and thought certain things would give me a bad day, or my day is going poorly. Now, I don't focus on the little things. I focus on the things I have control over, on the positive things.
"I've grown from this and can only get stronger from this."
In 2014, Tyson and his wife, Megan, started New Perspective Foundation. The mission was simple: make sure families can be together after someone sustains a spinal cord injury. New Perspective helps families with their travel expenses (airfare, lodging, gas, rental car, etc.), so they can afford to be at the hospital bedside of their loved one while he or she is recovering from a spinal cord injury.
Today, Tyson and Megan have two boys, Adam and Ryan. Tyson’s faith has only grow stronger. One of his favorite bible verses is Romans 8:28. “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” According to Tyson, that means a lot of good can come from a bad situation. All the pain, sadness and suffering can build something stronger and present wonderful opportunities that otherwise may never have come.
Man, do I have a lot to learn. Thank You Tyson!
Wishing you a healthy and positive perspective,
Brock

How & When Do You Really Know?
Answer: When any of these items are present; Conflict. Challenge. Adversity. Pain. Discomfort. Disappointment. Loss.
It’s never when things are going well. Easy and fun. Joyful and Victorious.
Picture this: You're in the midst of chaos, the weight of the world pressing down on your shoulders like an oversized backpack filled with bricks. It's that moment when you're not just looking for a friend; you're searching for someone who's got your back no matter what. So, how do you find out who's truly made of the good stuff when the going gets tough? Well, my friend, it's all about character without compromise.
Think back to those times when life threw you a curveball the size of a watermelon. Maybe it was a job interview gone awry, a tough match on the field, or even a heart-to-heart talk with a friend that went south quicker than a rollercoaster. It's in those moments of conflict, challenge, and adversity that true character shines through like a beacon in the storm.
But hold up, why does it take rough seas to reveal someone's true colors? Shouldn't we all just walk around wearing our character on our sleeves like a badge of honor? Well, my friend, life's not a walk in the park. It's more like a roller derby, full of twists, turns, and occasional collisions. It takes those bumps and bruises to reveal who's riding shotgun with you and who's jumping ship at the first sign of trouble.
Now, I'm not suggesting we tie people to trees and see how they fare without food or water. That's just plain cruel (and probably illegal). But think about it: when the going gets tough, who's standing by your side and who's running for the hills faster than a scared rabbit? It's those moments of trial and tribulation that separate the wheat from the chaff, the diamonds from the rough.
And let's not forget about the power of true friendship. I'm talking about those buddies who stick with you through thick and thin, through rain or shine, through good times and bad hair days. They're not just there for the laughs and the high fives; they're the ones who roll up their sleeves and dive headfirst into the trenches with you, ready to battle whatever life throws your way.
But hey, it's not all doom and gloom. In fact, it's during those dark and stormy nights that we find our true allies, our true comrades-in-arms. They're the ones who stand by us when the world seems to be crumbling around us, offering a hand to pick you up and a shoulder to stand on. And let me tell you, my friend, there's nothing more precious than a friend who sticks with you through thick and thin.
So, as you navigate the crazy ride we call life, remember to cherish those who show true character without compromise. Hold onto those friends who stand by you through the storms, and be the kind of friend who's there when others falter. Because when push comes to shove, it's those true friends who will lift you up and carry you to victory, one step at a time.
Encouraged action: If a very cool someone came to your mind as you read this I suggest you take the next 3-5 minutes to record a video or audio message letting that person know how much you appreciate them. Simply include three items:
Why you are sending the message.
Tell them Thank You! You are grateful to have them as a friend.
Explain what they did for you. They might not even be aware of what they did and certainly the immense value their actions had on you.
Until next time, keep shining bright!
Brock
P.S. Don’t stop here. Reach out to that friend who's always been there for you and let them know how much you appreciate them.

In 1989, Armenia shook with the fury of the earth, leaving devastation in its wake. Among the ruins stood a father, his heart pounding with fear for his young son, Armand. The school where Armand spent his days was now nothing but a heap of rubble and despair.
Ignoring the warnings of onlookers, the father plunged into the chaos, his hands bleeding as he clawed at the debris. "Join me or leave me alone," he growled, his determination unyielding.
For forty-seven agonizing hours, he toiled tirelessly, fueled by a father's love that knew no bounds. With each passing moment, hope threatened to slip away, but still, he pressed on.
Then, amid the silence of despair, a voice pierced through the darkness. "Daddy, is that you?" Armand's innocent cry shattered the father's exhaustion, filling him with renewed strength.
With trembling hands, he cleared away the final obstacles, revealing not only his own son but a gathering of classmates, survivors in the face of tragedy.
Armand's face radiated with faith and certainty. "I told you my Daddy would come," he declared to his amazed friends. "I told you my Daddy would come."
Perhaps, you too find yourself buried beneath the rubble of life's struggles. Maybe stress and discouragement weigh heavy upon your soul. But know this: God is pursuing you relentlessly, His love a beacon of hope in the darkness.
Though you may not see His hand at work, He is there, tirelessly clearing away the wreckage of your life. And when the time is right, you will feel His presence, hear His voice, and know that He has never abandoned you.
For just as a father's love knows no limits, so too does the love of your Heavenly Father. And He calls out to you now, saying, "I told you I would come. I told you I would come."
So lift your eyes from the rubble, my friend, and behold the boundless love that surrounds you. For you are His child, cherished beyond measure, and He will never rest until He has drawn you close once more.
Let Easter be a reminder that no matter how dire our circumstances may seem, there is always hope in the promise of new life, of redemption, and of the unshakeable love of our Heavenly Father.
May this Easter fill your heart with the hope and joy that surpasses all understanding, knowing that God is relentlessly pursuing you, ready to lift you up and restore you to wholeness.
Happy Easter,
Brock
P.S. This Easter, let's celebrate the triumph of love over despair. Together, let's lift each other from the rubble and embrace the promise of new beginnings.🌷🕊️

I’m guessing since you are reading this, you have heard a little about the recent phenomenon with Freeze-Dried/Vacuum-Dried candies, YES?
Next question – have you tried any? More importantly, have you experienced dulci sweets version?
If you haven't jumped on the freeze-dried candy craze yet, hold onto your hats because you're in for a treat that's as exhilarating as a roller coaster ride through Candyland!
Picture this: you pop a freeze-dried Skittle into your mouth, expecting the familiar burst of fruity goodness. But wait! What's this? A delightful crunch accompanies the explosion of flavor, sending your senses into overdrive. It's like a flavor fireworks show right in your mouth!
Speaking of Skittles – the Classic and Wild Berry Skittles are leading the pack in this candy revolution. With their intense fruit flavors and satisfying crunch, they're a must-have for any freeze-dried candy connoisseur.
And who can resist the temptation of JR (Jolly Ranchers) and Lemon Puffs (Lemonheads) at dulci sweets? These delectable treats take freeze-dried candy to a whole new level with their unique flavors and irresistible crunch. They're the perfect combination of sweet and tangy, making them a snack-time favorite for kids and adults alike.
But what's the secret behind this crunchy delight? It's all in the magic of freeze-drying, my friends. Unlike traditional candy-making methods that can sometimes leave you with a sticky mess, freeze-drying preserves the essence of flavors while transforming the texture into a crispy, airy sensation that's downright addictive.
It's like the candy version of biting into a fluffy cloud!
Now, I know what you're thinking. Is freeze-dried candy just a passing trend, here today and gone tomorrow like last year's fashion fad? Not a chance!
This is a full-blown revolution in the world of sweets, and it's here to stay. With its vibrant flavors, satisfying textures, and health-conscious appeal, freeze-dried candy is like a breath of fresh air in a sea of sugary indulgence.
That’s right, I did say health conscious – freeze-dried treats retain their nutritional value! While you're busy enjoying the crunch-tastic goodness of freeze-dried treats or the melt-in-your-mouth perfection of dulci sweets wildly popular "Honey Bites” that enhance the flavor of a Bit-O-Honey and wrap it in our luxurious milk chocolate, you're also nourishing your body with essential vitamins, fiber, and other goodies. It's like hitting the jackpot at the candy store and the health food aisle all at once!
Okay, not healthy like only eating fruits and vegetables, but oh so good and sooo much more fun.
But enough talk. It's time to experience the freeze-dried candy phenomenon for yourself. Whether you're a die-hard candy aficionado or just someone looking to add a little excitement to snack time, freeze-dried treats are the perfect way to satisfy your cravings. So go ahead, indulge in a symphony of flavors that will redefine the way you think about candy. Your taste buds will thank you!
Oh, and one more thing. Freeze-dried candy isn't just for snacking – it's a culinary journey waiting to happen. Imagine sprinkling freeze-dried Skittles on top of your favorite dessert for an added burst of flavor and crunch. Or mixing freeze-dried Rainbow Clusters (Nerd Clusters) into your favorite yogurt smoothie for a breakfast experience that's anything but boring. The possibilities are endless, my friends, and the only limit is your imagination.
So what are you waiting for? The upcoming Easter Celebration provides the perfect time join the freeze-dried candy craze and embark on a flavor adventure like no other. And of course, dulci sweets has you well covered.

Lessons Learned. Wisdom Shared.
by Brock Meadows
on Mar 12 2024
I recently had the privilege of engaging with a group of remarkable high school students immersed in the world of entrepreneurship. Their journey, from identifying needs to crafting ideas and executing plans, ignited a profound conversation on the invaluable lessons gleaned from both business and life. As champions of goodness and sharing, I couldn't help but reflect on our discussion and how it resonates with the essence of dulci sweets – Goodness Created to be shared. I thought you might enjoy them too, and hopefully share some of your own.
Lesson #1: Don’t let the fear of the finish, belittle your faith to start.
Fear often looms large when embarking on any venture. The fear of failure, of the unknown, can paralyze even the most determined soul. But remember, you don't need to have all the answers to begin. Have faith in yourself and your abilities. Trust that with each step forward, clarity will emerge, and challenges will transform into opportunities. God doesn't reveal the entire journey because it would overwhelm us; instead, He guides us one step at a time. Embrace the uncertainty with faith, for obedience often makes sense only in retrospect.
Lesson #2: Life will certainly knock you down. The key is to not let it break you down.
Life has a knack for throwing curveballs when least expected. Yet, the measure of our character lies not in avoiding setbacks but in how we rise from them. Each fall is an opportunity to demonstrate resilience, to dust ourselves off, and stand tall again. Remember, if God leads you to a path, He will equip you for the journey. Keep getting up, keep showing up, and never surrender to defeat. For as the proverb says, "A just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again."
Lesson #3: Choose Your Hard
Success is a journey riddled with challenges, but so is failure. The difference lies in the choice of hardship. Do you choose the struggles of success, filled with meaning and growth, or the anguish of unfulfilled dreams? Success doesn't guarantee an easy path; rather, it promises fulfillment and purpose. Understand that the dream is free, but the hustle, the relentless pursuit of excellence, is where the true test lies. When you discover your why, your purpose, you unlock the willpower to navigate any obstacle and soar towards your aspirations.
In every pursuit, remember that the journey is as significant as the destination. Your willingness to endure, to learn, and to grow shapes the trajectory of your success. As you continue to journey through life and business, may these lessons serve as guiding beacons, illuminating your path with faith, resilience, and purpose.
The conversation with those students was profoundly inspiring, reminding me of the boundless potential within each of us. I pray that these reflections resonate with you as you navigate your own path. Remember, your journey is not just about reaching the destination but about the person you become along the way.
Wishing you abundant growth and unwavering success,
Brock
P.S. I eagerly await hearing about the lessons life has taught you. Your insights and experiences are invaluable in our collective pursuit of excellence.

When you were in school, did you ever get to go on a sweet field trip to a Chocolate and Candy company? Me neither. But, how cool would that have been?
Well, a class of fifth graders from Delaware Christian School got to do just that last week with us. And let me just say, more schools should do this for their students. The excitement on their faces and big laughs heard throughout the building (teachers and chaperones included) said it all.
These kids stepped into Dulci Sweets with big smiles and even bigger imaginations. They suited up in chocolatier aprons and dove into the world of chocolate-making with gusto.
Picture this: dipping Oreos (or should I say drowning) in melted chocolate, creating their own sweet dulci s’mores masterpieces. Then, they went crazy over our freeze-dried candy – I'm talking candy chaos in the best way possible!
And you know what added an extra sprinkle of fun? Mike, our resident candyman, throwing out handfuls of freeze-dried candies to the kids like confetti at a party. Their laughter filled the air, and it was pure joy to watch.
At Dulci Sweets, we believe in the power of sweetness to bring people together, to spread joy, and to remind us of the goodness that surrounds us. Our mission is simple yet profound: Goodness Created to be shared. Because when you've got something as sweet as chocolate, why keep it all to yourself?
As the day came to a close, I couldn't help but think, "Why don't more schools do this?" It's not just about the chocolate (although that's a big plus), but it's about giving kids a chance to get creative, work together, and make sweet memories that'll last a lifetime.
Maybe now more will – now that they know dulci sweets opens its doors and kitchen to sweet opportunities like that.
So, here's to more sweet field trips and more moments of chocolate-covered fun for kids everywhere. After all, life's too short not to indulge in a little sweetness every now and then, right?
With chocolate smiles and candy laughs,
Brock
P.S. Educators and school classes – If you and your students would like to embark on a sweet adventure of chocolate making and joy-filled memories, don't hesitate to reach out to us. Dulci Sweets welcomes school groups ready to share in the magic of chocolate making.

Hey there, fellow chocolate enthusiasts! Ever wondered why a chocolate company like ours is dishing out wisdom on leadership? Well, let me indulge your curiosity with a little food for thought.
Think about it: just like you crave that perfect piece of chocolate, don't you also long for a leader who's like a breath of fresh air? Someone who's not just competent, but inspiring and empowering?
Picture this: a leader who's as confident as they are humble, as courageous as they are respectful. Sounds like the kind of leader you'd want to follow, right?
But here's the bitter truth: finding such leaders is as rare as stumbling upon that last piece of your favorite Dark Chocolate Espresso Bar hidden in the pantry. Yet, just like how a sail guides a ship through stormy seas, strong leadership steers us through life's unpredictable twists and turns. Without it, we're like ships lost at sea, tossed around by the waves of uncertainty.
Now, let me pose a question: do you believe success just falls into your lap? Nah, didn't think so. Success takes more than wishful thinking; it takes purposeful action, strategic planning, and, you guessed it, great leadership. A great leader isn't just the captain of the ship; they're the ones charting the course, rallying the crew, and keeping morale high even when the waters get rough.
But leading ain't a walk in the park, my friend. It's a delicate balancing act of pushing for excellence while also showing compassion and empathy. Imagine juggling chainsaws while riding a unicycle – yeah, it's kinda like that. A great leader knows when to provide a kick in the butt and when to lend a listening ear, all while keeping the team focused on the end goal.
And let's talk about protecting the house – no, not your literal house, unless you're living in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. I'm talking about safeguarding the culture, values, and elite players of your team. Because let's face it, mediocrity is like a virus that can spread faster than rumors at a middle school dance. A great leader isn’t about settling for second best; they're about pushing everyone to be their absolute best selves.
Now, here's where it gets real sweet: at the heart of leadership lies the art of service. It's about putting others before yourself, just like passing the last piece of chocolate to your friend even though you secretly want it for yourself (okay, maybe not that selfless, but you get the gist).
In a world obsessed with selfies and self-promotion, encouraging narcissism as a must have quality, true leadership shines brightest when it's all about lifting others up and making the world a sweeter place for everyone.
In conclusion, the sharing of leadership insights by a chocolate company is not merely a matter of business strategy; it is a reflection of a deeper commitment to excellence, service, and the pursuit of a higher calling. Just as great chocolate brings joy to the senses, great leadership brings inspiration and guidance to our lives, uplifting us to be the best versions of ourselves.
So, my fellow chocolate aficionados, the next time you bite into that decadent piece of chocolate, let it serve as a reminder: just like a perfectly crafted chocolate, great leadership leaves a lasting impression.
Until next time, keep shining bright. 🌟
Brock

Top Traits of Exceptional Employees
by Brock Meadows
on Feb 20 2024
Did you know that ‘Employee Appreciation Day’ is coming soon? In fact, it’s next Friday, March 1st.
Since many in this community are leaders, business owners, and have staff that directly report to them, I thought it would be a worthy conversation to present a few characteristics that top employees possess that stand out and are admired.
Considering the very real and difficult challenge that exists today for identifying and obtaining quality ‘A-Team’ players, it’s even more important to be sure you know the traits you’re looking for and place the highest value on. For you when you find it, you’ll be sure to appreciate and reward it well and often.
Quick note: this is not a complete list, just a good start. I encourage you to stop after reading to grab pen and paper, or the ‘notes’ app on your phone. Take 2-3 minutes thinking about the key attributes you would add to the list, or even better, write your own Top Five.
For me and from my 25+ years of experience, these five traits set outstanding employees apart from the crowd:
**Positive Attitude: The Catalyst for Success**
Picture a ray of sunshine amidst the clouds—that's the power of a positive attitude. Exceptional employees radiate positivity, even in the face of adversity. Their unwavering optimism and resilience propel them towards triumph, inspiring those around them to reach greater heights.
Personal summation – Life is tough! People who want to succeed should have an attitude of tenacity to overcome life’s difficulties!
**Ownership Mentality: Accountability in Action**
Exceptional employees don't just accept responsibility; they embrace it wholeheartedly. They take ownership of their actions and outcomes, refusing to make excuses or shift blame. By embodying a culture of accountability, they empower themselves and their colleagues to strive for excellence.
A poignant quote and an absolute favorite of mine is “The day you graduate from childhood to adulthood is the day you take 100% Responsibility for your life” ~ Jim Rohn
**Dependability: The Bedrock of Trust**
In a world where reliability is a rare gem, exceptional employees shine brightly. They are the rock-solid foundation upon which teams and organizations thrive. Their consistent performance and unwavering reliability earn them the trust and admiration of their peers, paving the way for success.
In direct words – Be someone others can count on. Handle your stuff. Don’t let items fall through the cracks. And always follow through.
**Sense of Urgency: Driving Action and Results**
Exceptional employees operate with a sense of urgency that propels them towards their goals. They understand the value of time and seize every opportunity to make a difference. Their proactive approach and decisive action inspire momentum and drive progress.
Operate with purpose and intentionality: If it’s worth doing, then do it now and do it well. Eradicate complacency. Be responsive Do. Decide. Act.
**Faith-Centered Approach: Guided by Purpose**
At the core of exceptional employees lies a deep sense of faith and purpose. They approach their work with humility, gratitude, and kindness, recognizing the divine source of their blessings. Grounded in faith, they navigate challenges with grace and dignity, making a positive impact on those around them.
Being God centered helps a person see that every good and perfect gift comes from God. Recognize you are not perfect. Be mindful of the forgiveness you have received. Glorify God with you thoughts, words, and actions.
Being transparent with you, I do not know why it has become more and more difficult to find employee candidates with the aforementioned attributes. But, when I/you do, it’s more reason to celebrate and honor the remarkable traits that define exceptional employees. From positivity to accountability, reliability to urgency, and faith-centeredness, these qualities embody the essence of greatness. As we strive for excellence in our workplaces and communities, let's cultivate these traits within ourselves and others, creating a brighter future filled with promise and possibility. A foundation built to overcome the certain trials and challenges that lie ahead.
With sincere appreciation and admiration,
Brock
P.S. Make sure your best employees are celebrated by sending a personalized “thank you!” of the finest handmade chocolate gifts. 🎁

What's Love Got to Do with It?
by Brock Meadows
on Feb 13 2024
"What's Love Got to Do with It?"
Throughout my journey, this question has frequently crossed my mind, and its significance has evolved beyond merely being a catchy tune by the late, great Tina Turner (may she be rocking away in heaven today).
Somewhere along the path, it became a trigger for perspective and action. Whether in the workplace, interacting with clients or colleagues, or spending time with my family, that question would surface in my mind.
"What's Love Got To Do With It?"
And in nearly every instance, the answer is unequivocally: EVERYTHING 😊
While this may not be a revelation to you, I believe it serves as a worthy reminder we can all benefit from.
When we pause to contemplate it, Love is the foundation of all that is good and positive in our lives. We understand the principle of reaping what we sow.
As I shared last week, the world mirrors back the energy we emit into it.
Thus, it behooves us to pause and give thoughtful consideration to everything we do – how we do it, why we do it, and when we do it.
In other words, if love genuinely propels the thoughts we think and the actions we take, only goodness can result from it.
Considering the diverse forms of love in various relationships – family, spouse, children, friends, even strangers we encounter – it makes perfect sense to regularly 'check our hearts' to ensure we are leading with love.
So, as we stand on the cusp of Valentine's Day, let us heed the timeless wisdom of Paul's words: "And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love" (1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV).
Consider, if you will, the transformative power of leading with love. Imagine the profound impact we could wield, the lives we could touch and transform, simply by allowing love to permeate our thoughts, words, and deeds.
Picture, if you will, the ripple effect of our actions, reverberating far beyond the confines of our immediate sphere, spreading waves of compassion, understanding, and acceptance.
Indeed, what a wondrous world it would be—a world where every soul is affirmed, cherished, and valued in the warm embrace of love.
And yet, amidst the fervor of love that permeates the air, let us not forget the most crucial recipient of all: ourselves. For one cannot pour from an empty vessel; self-love must precede all else.
In the spirit of this sentiment, I share with you a poignant 'Prayer for Love,’ I found along my way. A reminder of the boundless reservoir of love that resides within each of us:
"God, Remind me that love is always near, because You are never far. When I feel unworthy of love, remind me that You have made me worthy. And when I feel incapable of showing love, help me to remember what You've sacrificed for me. Remind me of how loved I am so I can remind others of how loved they are. In Jesus' name."
With abundant love and sweet blessings,
Brock
P.S. Valentines or any day, Chocolates are Everyone’s Love Language 💖 Good thing you’ve got us to make it easy for you to share the love. 💘😊

Has this every happened to you? You’re driving down the road and you see a car that you are confident belongs to a close friend, co-worker or even your spouse. As you’re about to pass one another you enthusiastically smile and wave. Just as you are doing that you get close enough to realize that wasn’t who you thought it was. Lol.
I recently had that very experience thinking it was my wife. Instead, it was a complete stranger. And while it was a little embarrassing, the lady in the passing car reciprocated with a friendly smile and waved back.
That’s when I thought – I wonder how many times that would happen if I did that repeatedly.
So, I decided to embark on an experiment to see how many people I could put a smile on their face, and create moments of joy for others. I did this over and over again several times, mixing it up with a smile and a wave and no smile or a wave.
The results were pretty cool.
If you’re up for some fun, try this experiment. When going about your day, simply smile and wave (if it makes sense to do so) to the people you encounter. The beauty lies in its simplicity; nearly everyone responds in kind, creating a ripple of positivity.
Now, flip the script. Choose not to smile or wave at the next person you see, and observe their mirrored response – a lack of warmth and connection.
Do this several times over; smile, not smile, wave not wave. I’m confident your results will become quite predictable – Every Time! A testament to the influence we hold over the atmosphere we create.
Whether you're behind the wheel, strolling through the grocery store, waiting in line at a coffee shop, or even participating in an online Zoom meeting, people will mirror the energy you project.
It's as though you've stumbled upon a superpower – the ability to instantaneously shift someone's state. Like a magician revealing a captivating trick, you have the power to awaken friendliness, warmth, and joy with a simple gesture.
This experiment unfolds into valuable life lessons. Firstly, recognize that you are a change agent. Your presence can transform any space, whether physical or virtual. Every step you take, every communication you initiate – through text, email, or social media – carries the potential to brighten or dim the surroundings. You possess the power to shape the energy in any room.
The second lesson is a profound one – the world reflects back to you the energy you bring into it. Infuse positivity, happiness, abundance, friendliness, and warmth, and watch as these qualities bounce back to you. Conversely, if you project pessimism, scarcity, and fear, the world will echo those sentiments.

We acknowledge that dulci sweets plays a unique role, not just as a purveyor of exquisite chocolates but as a beacon of positivity and goodness. It is our unwavering commitment to shine a light on the uplifting aspects of life, to inspire and encourage each one of you.
To share messages that lift you up and encourage you to focus on the few ‘forever’ things in life that matter most.
I pray that the today’s message resonates with your heart and is a moment that positively serves you.
Life, as we know it, is a journey filled with inevitable challenges. Whether fleeting or enduring, minor or seemingly insurmountable, challenges are the threads that weave the fabric of our existence. No one is exempt from hardship, adversity, pains, and hurts. It's during these times that doubt, unbelief, fear, and uncertainty can cast their shadows, inducing stress and anxiety. But fear not, for there is good news – a proven and positive perspective that can guide us through.
Let me share with you a heartwarming and enlightening conversation I had with my oldest son, Camden, arising from a message presented during his chapel service at his Christian school. The message drew from the words of the Apostle Paul to Timothy in 2 Timothy 1, a poignant message delivered as Paul faced his own impending death.
In the face of his challenges, Paul didn't succumb to fear and despair. Instead, he wrote to Timothy, urging him to stand strong in faith, anchored in the unwavering Word of God. It's a lesson that transcends time and circumstances, a beacon of hope for us all.
As we delve into 2 Timothy 1:6-14, we find Paul encouraging Timothy to be brave and faithful amidst hardships. He reminds us all that God has bestowed upon us a spirit of "power, love, and self-control." This spirit empowers us to serve as Good Soldiers, fanning the flames of our faith to make them stronger, brighter, and hotter.
Consider the profound impact of Paul's prayer and commitment to service, even in the face of impending doom. His words resonate with unshakeable peace, joy, and faith. It's a testament to the transformative power of a steadfast heart and mind anchored in the divine.
In reflecting on this message, Camden and I found comfort in the hope-filled instruction, and supportive reassurance Paul conveyed to Timothy, emphasizing five Godly attributes:
FAITH: A foundation to stand on, unyielding and resolute.
BOLDNESS: The courage to face challenges with unwavering determination.
SERVICE: A noble calling to contribute beyond ourselves, even in adversity.
JOY: A perpetual wellspring of enduring joy found in Christ, just around the corner.
PRAYER: A powerful tool to draw closer to God and align our hearts with His.
Directly from Camden's notes, these thoughts emerged:
“Every Word you speak is Revealing.”
"With Christ, JOY is just around the corner."
"If you don't have faith today, you will stumble and fall tomorrow."
"We are victors IN Christ."
May these thoughts, inspired by the teachings of Paul and echoed in Camden's reflections, serve as a steadfast encouragement for you and your spirit.
Together, let us stand strong, embodying the spirit of power, love, and self-control that has been graciously given to us.
With heartfelt warmth and encouragement,
Brock and Camden
P.S. Let’s remain faithful and bold throughout, shining our light in the darkness. Knowing that we are not alone on this journey. This Is Goodness Created to be shared.

Hey there, my friend. The question I have for you today might appear random, but I promise it will have meaning in a minute.
Have you ever the song, by country music artist, Doug Stone, called “Little Houses”?
The chorus goes like this;
you know love grows best in little houses
With fewer walls to separate
Where you eat and sleep so close together
You can't help but communicate
Oh, and if we had more room between us, think of all we'd miss
Love grows best in houses just like this
The song was released in 1994. I’m not exactly when I first heard it, but I do remember the core message sticking with me – Love grows best in little houses, with few walls to separate.
It's more than just a catchy tune; it's a powerful metaphor for the amount of time and attention we give to what truly matters.
As a seasoned adult, husband, and father, I've come to realize that the size of your house doesn't matter as much as the size of your attention. It's about being fully present with where you are and who you're with, without the distractions of devices, multitasking, and mindless swiping. It's about cherishing the small, yet significant moments in life – the simple joys that many overlook in the pursuit of what appears to be something bigger.
Realizing you don’t have to go elsewhere, spend money or do something big, to have fun and spend quality time with those you care about.
I recently had a heart-to-heart with the front desk manager at a hotel I frequent during my business travels. He shared a childhood memory of his family gathering in the main room every night, where the one TV in the house was located. And how there was the living room (aka, the nice room) that no one was ever in, unless others in the neighborhood came by and they would gather there to visit with his parents.
Does that spark a similar memory for you too? It does me.
As a father and husband, I've adopted a tradition with my own family. Every night at 8:00 pm, we shut down all other activities. Work and homework are done for the day, and we gather in the living room. It's our sacred time, whether we're watching a family show, playing a game, or simply catching up on the day's happenings. These 60 to 90 minutes are genuinely the highlight of my day.
Now, here's a thought-provoking study to share with you. Parents were asked whom they'd have dinner with if they could choose anyone. Abraham Lincoln, Jesus, Martin Luther King, Jr. – you name it, they wished to gain wisdom and instruction from these remarkable figures for learning invaluable lessons and the secrets to our life’s deepest questions. But when their children were asked the same question, the answers were greatly different and heartwarmingly simple – "My family. My Mom or my Dad."
Ouch! Cue the chest compressions ❤️ and grab a tissue 😥, because that's the raw, unfiltered beauty of the here and now. In a world dominated by devices, notifications, and the constant pursuit of external validation, we often miss the most valuable and priceless moments right in front of us. Our children, with their innocent and profound answers, remind us of the true essence of life – the joy, connection, and warmth of real love and friendship.
Remember the days without all the gadgets, when the closeness to family and community meant real people within your physical presence. Those were the days of genuine joy and connection, where you felt the comfort and warmth of true love and friendship from people who will always be there, no matter what.
As the world bombards us with distractions, let's pause and reflect on the importance of being present. Let's resist the urge to be ruled (or ruined) by devices and external demands. Instead, let's embrace the closeness to family and community, savoring the richness of true connections.
In the words of Ephesians 4:23-24, "to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."
Let's choose the little houses of presence over the big walls of distraction. Let's celebrate the simplicity of being fully engaged with those around us, for love indeed grows best in houses just like this.
Wishing you meaningful connections and fully present moments,
Brock
P.S. Remember: the most extraordinary moments often unfold in the simplicity of being present. Don't miss the chance to savor the beauty within the ordinary.

Greetings, Champions! I'm hoping last week's motivational boost is still reverberating within you, sparking a fire to grab the reins of your destiny. The game-changing approach unveiled is your ticket to Level Up Your 2024 Game.
Picture it: a journey involving profound soul-searching, the crafting of an intimately profound love letter, wielding both shield and sword, and following a roadmap so alive, it practically breathes vitality into your most extraordinary year yet! 🎉 If you're not ready to just exist but to THRIVE, if you're ready to break barriers and make 2024 YOUR year of unstoppable growth and authentic living, then buckle up; you're in for a ride.
Let's cut to the chase – obstacles are lurking around the corner, ready to pounce on your dreams. But guess what? You've got the ultimate arsenal – an intentional and honest love letter. This isn't just ink on paper; it's a formidable force against doubt and negativity. It's your reminder that you are a powerhouse of potential and victories.
Now, armed with your love letter, wield the sword of persistent effort. It's not just a cute phrase; it's the key to unlocking your true power. As 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline." You have the power within you – now, it's time to unleash it with discipline and love.
Here's a truth that demands your attention: "We become good at what we practice even if what we are practicing is not good for us." This isn't a gentle suggestion; it's a call to action. What are you practicing? It's time to mindfully and intentionally shape habits that propel you towards the positive, uplifting person you aspire to be. Your habits aren't just routines; they're the architects of your destiny.
When discouragement knocks on your door, when plans crumble, let the verse above and the following statements be your steadfast companions…
Your potential isn't a sporadic guest; it's a resident that thrives on persistent effort. Your habits and behaviors aren't side streets; they're the highway to your results. Take the wheel and drive towards the life you envision.
In the journey of unstoppable growth, challenges aren't roadblocks; they're golden opportunities. Your purpose is the fuel propelling you forward. Embrace the hurdles, conquer them, and let each one be a stepping stone towards your extraordinary self.
As we wrap up, let me lay it out – 2024 isn't just a year; it's YOUR year. It's not about surviving; it's about thriving, and you have everything you need within you.
So, here's the call to action: Own Your Year, Life, and Destiny. Craft that love letter. Wield that sword of persistent effort. Shape those habits intentionally. Embrace challenges as opportunities. Make 2024 the year where you don't just dream; you LIVE.
Remember, I’m your friend. Here to hug your neck and provide a little kick in the butt when necessary. 🫶
Cheering you on always,
Brock
P.S. When life throws challenges your way, just remember: You're not given anything you can't handle. And you’re not alone. A friend, a community, and the best chocolate on the planet can fix anything! 😉

Let's kick off the year with a big "sayonara" to those mundane New Year Resolutions that statistically crash and burn faster than a poorly made soufflé. Seriously, only 9 out of 100 folks can claim victory, leaving the rest of us feeling like we're in some resolution graveyard. But guess what? We're not playing that game this year – no sir, not with our dreams, ambitions, and confidence on the line.
So, here's the lowdown: Instead of scribbling down a list of things you'll probably forget by February, let's have a heart-to-heart. Grab a pen and paper and write yourself a letter. Not just any letter – we're talking about soul-baring, honest-to-goodness, heartfelt dialogue with yourself. Pour in your wildest ambitions, deepest aspirations, and the desires that make your heart beat faster. Don't forget to spill the beans on your fears and doubts, and how you're planning to kick them to the curb.
But hold up – feeling the skepticism creeping in? I get it. It's a bit unconventional, right? Well, let me hit you with some evidence. This isn't just a feel-good exercise; it's a proven method to connect with your true self. Those who've embraced this process report feeling more focused, more aligned with their values, and, dare I say, happier.
Now, let's get down to the nitty-gritty. Ever thought about what fears are pulling you back from the life you truly want? Or the adventures that make your heart race? Who are the people you want to hug a little tighter this year? What's your game plan for personal growth, and where can you lend a helping hand to others? Asking these questions isn't just a mental exercise; it's like giving your dreams a GPS – a roadmap straight to your heart's desires.
And here's the kicker – this letter? It's not a one-and-done deal. Nah, it's a living, breathing document that'll be your sidekick throughout the year. Quarterly check-ins? Monthly tweaks? Heck yes! Keep it where you can't ignore it, and watch the magic unfold.
Embrace the fluidity of this process. Life is not about perfection; it's about love, forgiveness, and grace. Remember the gift of grace from above, not earned by works but received through faith in God. Not for what you have done, but because of WHO HE Is.
Recognize that priorities may shift as the year unfolds, and that's perfectly normal. Monthly reflections on your letter will serve as a gauge of its relevance. Modify it as needed, for this letter is a living entity, much like you, ever-changing throughout the year. Consider it not just a list of aspirations but a catalyst for meaningful change, pushing you beyond comfort zones.
Let's embark on a journey of authentic, value-driven growth, playing the game of life more strategically to ensure victory. As we step into 2024, may it be a year of blessings, health, and purpose-driven living.
Happy New Year,
Brock
P.S. Your feedback and engagement mean the world to me. Seriously, reach out – let's make this journey together, because that's what this community is all about. We're here to support and cheer you on!
