Happy day after Christmas! 🎄 I hope yours was filled with joy, gratitude, and spirit-filled peace. ✨ The past month we have talked a lot about the Season and Spirit of Giving. Last week I shared a few stories from members of this strong and quickly growing community about why they give, and what it means to them. As we close out the final few days of 2023, and ring in a New Year; no doubt filled with joyful anticipation and great hope for the achievement of new goals and dreams, I want to share an event and moment that I pray sticks with me for years to come. As you read it, I hope it positively impacts you too.  I was exhausted, the night was creeping in, and I faced a near three-hour drive home. But it was the last day of our two-week donation campaign, and reality hit hard—we were over $4,000 shy of our goal. Two locations nailed it, but the other two lagged behind by over $2,000 each. This marks our fifth year passionately supporting the non-profit organization, Comfort Cases. Together, we're on a mission to eliminate the heart-wrenching and utterly unacceptable practice of giving children in foster care trash bags for their belongings during transitions between temporary homes or institutions. Comfort Cases: not just backpacks but brand new vessels of comfort and essential items for kids entering foster care. Pajamas, blankets, toiletries, journals, books, pens, coloring books, crayons, and stuffed animals—all carefully packed in each case. And it only takes $45 to fully equip one comfort case. With less than six hours left in the campaign, as I was shutting everything down, I felt a divine nudge—a gut feeling compelling me to stop and record a short video. Now, I'm not one to frequent social media, but this nudge felt different, almost like a higher calling. In that video, I poured my heart out, saying something along these lines: "Handing a child a trash bag says: You are NOT ENOUGH! You are NOT Important. You are NOT Valued… But that is NOT TRUE. That is NOT Acceptable. Each and Every Child Deserves Better! Good news is - You, Me, US, Can do something to make that Change! AND DO IT TODAY!!!" I won't claim this one action will overhaul the entire system, but I DO believe it's a small hinge that CAN and WILL SWING A BIG DOOR! It'll lift UP a child, bring HOPE, DIGNITY & LOVE TO THEIR SOUL. It just might be THE MOMENT they believe that THEY ARE ENOUGH! Whether you can give $45, $10, or $450, YOU CAN PLAY AN ACTIVE PART in creating this absolutely necessary CHANGE!! I posted it, prayed for contributions, hopped in my car, and hit the road. In less than 15 minutes, a message popped up from a dear friend asking, “How much is remaining for you to reach your donation goal?” I replied, “Hey there. We're a little over $4k.” We hadn't chatted in months, so I decided to call. He answered, and his equally amazing wife was on speaker. After catching up, they dropped a bombshell: "Whatever amount is left for your donation goal, we want to take care of it." I was speechless, overjoyed, and incredibly thankful. Ending the call, I was overwhelmed with God’s presence and teared up with happiness. I could go on about this story, but the morals are clear: People are Good. God is Good. Don't ignore those promptings. Anything is possible. The final tally? Over $23,000 raised! That means 511 children won't get a trash bag; they'll get a Brand New Comfort Case that belongs to them. As we face life's challenges, discouragements, and obstacles, let's not lose sight. Keep staying the course, doing good in all you do. Hello, amazing friends! Grab a seat, and let's chat about the real essence of Christmas – the spirit of giving. A while back, I asked what motivates you to give, and wow, your responses melted our hearts. It's clear; the Christmas spirit is alive and thriving in our community. Take Suzie, for instance. She loves letting people know they're special and appreciated. It's all about spreading love and warmth, whether through a goofy gift or a simple note. According to Suzie, it's the love and thoughtfulness of giving that makes life extra special. Then there's Justin, who learned about giving from his grandmother. As a kid, he listened to her stories of sharing, giving, and praying for others. Now, as an adult, Justin carries on his grandma's legacy by giving back to the community and his loved ones. It's a wonderful cycle of generosity. And meet Alexis, who discovered the joy of giving as a child when her father encouraged her to buy gifts for less fortunate kids. Fast forward, and she's still sharing joy, this time with popcorn, chocolate, and candies for friends and co-workers. Alexis believes life is meant to be shared, and her gifts are a celebration of the good things life brings. Our community's stories teach us something valuable: Giving isn't just an action; it's a gift in itself. Alexis captures it perfectly: "For me, giving gifts is a celebration of the abundance and richness of life. It's about appreciating the good things and spreading that joy around.” Building upon those stories, let's elevate the narrative. Amidst the dazzle of lights, the revelry of parties, and the exchange of gifts, our community knows the heart of Christmas isn't just about festive cheer. It's about the birth of Jesus – the true reason for the season. For unto us a child is born, the greatest gift ever given to mankind. This profound truth is the heartbeat of our celebrations, the light that illuminates our world. As we celebrate the hope that is the light of the world, let's reflect on the words from Isaiah 9:6 – "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." The hope embedded in these words is the greatest gift ever given to mankind – the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. So, as we unwrap our presents, let's not forget the profound gift of love, peace, and eternal hope that is Jesus. Let's continue to embrace the spirit of giving not just during the holiday season but as a way of life. May we find ways to bless those less fortunate, make a difference, and share the abundance of blessings we've received. Let's talk about something many of us grapple with—the feeling of being taken for granted. If I'm honest, some days, it hits harder than others. Can you relate? It's not the requests themselves that bother you; it's how they're presented, almost as if they're expected. This can sometimes lead to that sinking feeling—I'm being taken for granted, or I'm only valued for what I can do for them. Of course, this is not healthy thinking, and it's likely not entirely accurate. But hey, we're human, and this emotion tends to intensify, especially during the holiday season. So, what's the game plan? Firstly, Celebrate Your Normal: Remind yourself of a simple truth—what's normal often goes unnoticed because it becomes expected. Your day-to-day reliability and consistency may not always be applauded, but they form the backbone of your contribution. Secondly, Embrace Your Goodness: You're inundated with requests because you're dependable, faithful, and trustworthy. You're good at what you do, and that's precisely why people turn to you. Thirdly, Patience Pays Off: Just because they don't acknowledge it now doesn't mean they won't notice and appreciate your efforts later. Sometimes, the applause comes after the performance. And if appreciation doesn’t come, don’t allow the reaction of others to determine our identity. How they make you feel is not who you are. A Critical Self-Check: Pause for a moment and reflect. How many times have you been the person bombarding someone else with requests, expecting them to drop everything for you? In the rush of your own demands, did you show the appreciation you now desire? Asking ourselves these questions is like a punch to the solar plexus. It forces us to confront our own blind spots. Why is it that we're quick to notice when others fall short but turn a blind eye when we do the same? Especially during the holiday hustle, let's lead by example. Take a moment to express gratitude and celebrate those who serve you. It's a simple yet powerful act that can break the cycle of feeling underappreciated. It's also about recognizing the beauty around us and appreciating the people who enrich our lives. When we consciously acknowledge the wonders in our world, we open ourselves to new perspectives and a sense of purpose. Grounded in humility our vision broadens, and we uncover passions we might never have noticed before. Is this easy? No way!  Is it a choice? Absolutely! It is my favorite holiday of the year, second to only Christmas, and usually with a lot less travel. No matter our backgrounds, we can all appreciate the joy of a shared meal and the warmth of shared laughter. Think about the stories, the memories, the traditions you’ve formed around the Thanksgiving table – they create a tapestry of togetherness that is uniquely special to this holiday. It's an occasion that reinforces the importance of human connection, reminding us that we are not alone in this world.  No pressure or expectation of spectacular gifts to buy, wrap, and deliver. And the simple joy and magical gift of concentrated time with the people we love most.  The beauty of Thanksgiving is that it's a timeless tradition that's been passed down through generations. It connects us to our past and inspires us to carry it into the future. If you feel like the world’s been getting the better of you recently, you are not alone. I’ve felt that way several times over the past few months.  I've been doing my best to do things that I know are good for me. To remain grounded, I stay consistent with exercise, even when my heart isn't in it. I limit my news and social updates to 1-2x a day to help me stay informed without feeling consumed and overwhelmed. This isn't about burying my head in the sand. It's about taking care of my mental health so I can take consistent positive action.  Taking a moment for yourself doesn't eliminate your ability to help. It's okay to turn off the news, put down your phone, and take a walk outside. Staying informed and having empathy requires energy and mental bandwidth, so it's important to take care of yourself. And THE ONE MAIN thing that sets up all the other things that are good for me is spending time with God at the start of each day. Reading His word, reflecting on it, and then entering into a conversation with Him.  Some days that’s a short read and a quick conversation. Sometimes it happens throughout the day. No matter when or how many times, this one action supports and elevates everything else. It provides perspective, develops character, builds trust, and encourages patience.   While few things ever seems to go as I originally planned, and always takes far longer to develop, I’m a grateful for the experiences in the valley’s that have taught me so much and ultimately have made me better. To trust in His plans, His way, His purpose.  Knowing that God is at the wheel and He is always faithful.  God is the God of promise. Faith involves trusting the promises of God. God makes a promise; faith believes it, hope anticipates it, patience quietly waits for it. Regardless of what challenge or trial you or I face in the days to come, Christ declared that our correct position of faith is to “be of good cheer” because He has overcome it already! — John 16:33 To my fellow sojourners in this adventure called life, here's the golden nugget – trust in God's promises, sprinkle in some patience, and there you have it. A recipe not just for survival but for thriving in the midst of life's chaos. Embrace the uncertainties, navigate through the valleys, and remember, you've got a divine co-pilot steering the ship. “I trust in You, God, and in Your timing. I may not see the light yet, but I hope in what's to come.” It's a declaration of trust, hope, and the anticipation of a brighter future. With faith and hope, Brock P.S. Imagine this scene: A picturesque, sun-kissed afternoon in a small, close-knit town, where the American flag waves proudly in the gentle breeze. The air is filled with anticipation and excitement as a soldier, a loving husband and father, makes his way home after a long and arduous deployment. He has been away, far from his family, serving his country with unwavering dedication. The soldier's name is John, and his heart races with anticipation as he approaches his home. The house, a quaint and cozy one, is adorned with a banner that reads, "Welcome Home, Dad!" The front yard is filled with friends, family, and neighbors, all gathered to celebrate his return. As John's car pulls into the driveway, his heart pounds with a mix of emotions - relief, anxiety, and above all, the overwhelming desire to embrace his family. His wife, Sarah, stands at the front door, clutching a bouquet of red, white, and blue flowers, a symbol of the love and patriotism she and their children hold dear. Her eyes glisten with tears of happiness and nervous excitement. Inside the house, their daughter, Lily, a sweet and innocent nine-year-old, waits with bated breath. She knows her dad is coming home today, but she has no idea of the magical surprise that awaits her. Lily's heart races as she hears the familiar rumble of her father's footsteps outside. John's boots hit the porch, and before he can even ring the doorbell, Lily bursts through the front door with the enthusiasm only a child can possess. Her little heart cannot contain the joy she feels. She sprints towards her father, her tiny feet carrying her with boundless energy, and she reaches him just as he steps inside. "Daddy!" Lily cries out with a voice filled with sheer delight, throwing her arms around her father's neck. The tears in her eyes are tears of pure joy, for she has missed her hero dearly. John, his eyes also moist, scoops Lily into his arms, hugging her tightly as if he'll never let her go. His strong and weathered hands hold his daughter, a bundle of warmth and love, as he whispers, "I missed you too, sweetheart. More than words can say." The room is filled with emotion, and the hearts of all who witness this incredible moment are touched. There is a chorus of joyous cheers and clapping from the family and friends who have gathered to welcome John home. Even the American flag seems to wave a little more proudly, as if saluting a soldier's return. In that heartfelt embrace, with her father home safe and sound, Lily knows that her world is right again. The worries and uncertainties of the past months melt away, replaced by the overwhelming joy of having her dad back. As they stand together, a father and his daughter, wrapped in the warmth of immeasurable love, they are a living testament to the sacrifices and the unwavering dedication of our veterans. It's a reminder that, on this day and every day, we must honor, appreciate, and support our heroes who bring tears of joy and happiness to their families and to our nation. "THANK YOU" is the least we can express on this upcoming Veteran's Day. The call to honor their sacrifices is a vital message. It reminds us to infuse our lives with gratitude, respect, and appreciation as an ongoing tribute to the veterans who have given so much. In the world of personal growth and development, the concept of endurance stands as a defining attribute that separates the great from the merely good. To meditate on the word "endure" is to invite introspection and reflection, for it compels us to contemplate the essence of resilience and the capacity to see things through to the end. But do we, in our modern age, practice endurance to the extent our predecessors once did? The answer, it seems, is not quite. In today's fast-paced world, where instant gratification often takes precedence over the patience and perseverance that endurance demands, the art of sticking with something when the going gets tough is under threat. Unlike the generations that weathered World War I, World War II, and the harsh economic conditions of the 1930s, many individuals today are accustomed to a life of relative ease. The older generation, having witnessed and lived through adversity, understands the value of hard work on a profound level.  They had no choice but to toil relentlessly to carve out their livelihoods and build strong nations. They worked tirelessly, and in doing so, they achieved remarkable feats. Conversely, today's generation, blessed by the prosperity and progress of the modern world, may not fully grasp the sacrifices and strenuous efforts that underlie their comfortable lives. Often, when called upon to go the extra mile or make sacrifices, they respond with reluctance or consider such demands to be unreasonable. Rather than approaching tasks with a mindset of how they can contribute to the well-being and success of their communities, they often prioritize immediate rewards and compensation. The apostle Paul's statement, "When it comes to hard work, no one is a harder worker than I am!" (Philippians 3:12), resonates deeply. Beyond religious context, it underscores the value of diligence and unwavering commitment to hard work. Paul exerted incredible energy to fulfill his perceived divine purpose. The essence of Paul's declaration goes beyond his religious beliefs; it is a testament to the value of hard work and the enduring spirit that drives it. In an era when the work ethic is undergoing a transformation, and the term "hard work" is not as universally understood as it once was, Paul's example serves as a guiding light. It is clear that enduring, whether in one's career, marriage, family, or relationships, is a mark of character and strength. The ability to withstand adversity and to persist in the face of challenges is a virtue that brings about remarkable benefits. To align oneself with the spirit of Paul and his unyielding commitment to hard work is to adopt a mindset that embraces going the extra mile, not just doing what is required, and recognizing that excellence is born from sustained effort. Merely keeping pace with others will not lead to exceptional results. In a world where patience and persistence are in decline, it is imperative that we rekindle the spirit of endurance. It is not merely about surviving the difficulties of life but thriving in the face of them. It is a reminder that the path to greatness is not built on ease and comfort but on tenacity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to hard work. I often say to my kids and clients in business and fitness; growth and glory is not found getting to the wall, it’s gained going over or through it.  May this encourage us to embrace the value of hard work and to acknowledge that enduring difficulties and persevering through challenges are the cornerstones of true success. Can we talk? 😊 May I share a recent conversation I had with someone about what it means to be a light in the world. It's a topic close to my heart, and I thought you might find it inspiring, especially following last week’s message inviting you to join us in the fight against breast cancer.  Have you ever stumbled through a dark room, or tried to navigate in the dead of night when there were no lights? Perhaps you've collided with an unexpected obstacle, feeling disoriented and lost in the absence of light. Our lives, prior to embracing Jesus, can be likened to this darkness. We fumble and falter when we rely on our own understanding and vision. But, when we allow Jesus into our hearts, His light pierces through the darkness that surrounds us and the shadow within ourselves. He illuminates the truth, setting us free from our former ways and guiding us toward transformation through His forgiveness. Without the light, we remain ignorant and lost. Jesus is the beacon of truth that dispels the darkness. Just as a physical light is needed for us to see our path clearly, Jesus is the spiritual light that illuminates our way of life. John 1:5 tells us that the light of Jesus cannot be conquered by anything. No spiritual powers, cultural events, or human actions can overcome the light that He brings into our lives. It's a powerful reminder that His light can break through even the darkest of times and fill our lives with hope and love. Friends, we find our purpose in being a light in the world. Just as Jesus is the light that shines within the darkness of our lives, we are called to reflect His radiance to those around us. We are to be ambassadors of light, dispelling ignorance, sin, and despair with the brilliance of Christ's love. The world around us may be steeped in darkness, but our calling is not to shy away from it. Instead, we are to shine brightly within it, illuminating the path for others. We are meant to bring out the best in those we encounter. I asked this person to think about how it feels when someone is kind to them. "It feels good" they replied with a smile. I said, "Exactly! Kindness can change the world around us, even if it's just small acts of love." We discussed how simple gestures like helping a friend, offering a smile, or saying something nice can be like tiny beacons of light in someone's day. Kindness stands as a powerful weapon against darkness. Our kindness should distinguish us, a hallmark of our lives.  As citizens of a different world, we must learn a new language. In a world marked by negativity, we choose joy. In a world of chaos, we embrace prayer as a constant dialogue with God. In a world of complaints, we give thanks.  Our gratitude is the expression of our light, and it can illuminate even the darkest corners of our lives. Sometimes (many more times than we surely would like), it may seem that the darkness is growing and the light is dimming. But remember, darkness can never extinguish the light. It can't overcome light, and Jesus is the Light of the world. His light reveals the truth of life, enabling us to live it to the fullest.  It exposes evil, guides the confused, and shows the way to the lost. His light is our guide, and we are to carry it with us wherever we go. This light, the light of Jesus, can shine through us into our workplaces, communities, families, and friendships. We become beacons of hope in a world that so often feels lost in the shadows. Just as we remember the relief of turning on a light in a dark room, others too can find solace and direction in the light we carry. So, what does it mean to be a light in the world? It means being a beacon of hope, a source of kindness, a vessel of love, and a reflection of Jesus' light.  It means choosing joy over despair, prayer over silence, and gratitude over complaints. It means bringing out the best in others and showing them the way to the truth. The responses were nothing short of spectacular, with words like “WOW, the chocolate is really, really good. The texture, coating, and flavor – without question, undeniably extraordinary.” But there was so much more shared, seen, and felt that makes dulci sweets unique and different.  As a cherished member of this remarkable community, you're likely aware of the incredible journey we embarked upon recently. Last Thursday marked a momentous occasion as we celebrated the expansion of our facility with a ribbon-cutting event. The festivities included, tours of the new space, sampling of several products, including the sneak preview  of our newest product, (soon to be released) Buckeye Bark and the latest dulci sweets swag (shirts, sweatshirts, and hats).  We also had a very special guest and great friend to us, Cardale Jones (Former Ohio State Buckeye National Champion QB) there to meet, greet, and sign his autograph for the 25 lucky people that won a limited edition, Cardale Jones Specialty Tumbler filled with Buckeye Bark. The excitement and response were, without a doubt, off the charts! I know what many of you are thinking, and yes, we just might have a few more of those tumblers in our possession to share with you in the weeks to come. So, keep your eyes peeled! Now for the very best part of it all… The people, the community, their encouragement, and support. This includes individuals, local business owners, the Ashland Area Chamber, 104.9 The River from Columbus, Ohio, the Mayor of Ashland, Ohio – Matt Miller, State Representative – Melanie Miller, and so many other wonderful people. Including our wives and kids right alongside us.  It was truly awesome, Every person present not only extended their support but also wanted to understand more about the essence of dulci sweets, co. They wanted to see and hear what we stand for, what drives us.  It was during those moments of conversation and gathering that Mike and I shared our journeys. Two completely different backgrounds, and two different paths that joined forces to build a company for a shared purpose and mission. One that places the greatest importance on the values of God, Family, Country and Community.  And not just in mere words, but by our actions. Engaging with people, connecting with them, hearing their hearts while sharing ours. Being genuinely authentic, transparent, and kind. That’s where people relate, connect, and relationships are forged.  From there, many good and incredible things are made. Dulci Sweets exists to serve others. To add value to individuals, companies, teams, organizations. We strive to lift up those around us and to embody the fruits of the spirit; Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, and Self-Control.  After all, Love is not just an emotion; it is an action. In the journey of life, one question often lingers in our hearts:  What truly holds the utmost importance in our lives?  The answer, for many, immediately gravitates towards family, a loving spouse, and cherished children. Yet, a deeper inquiry arises - are we living in alignment with these values? Values, you see, are not merely lofty words uttered but are illuminated through our deeds, evident not in what we proclaim but in what we practice. In fact, I wouldn’t even need to ask a person that question to know the answer. All I would need is to look at is their calendar and their credit card statement.  How one allocates their time and resources unveils their genuine priorities, showcasing what they prize, cherish, love, and adore. It's an unfiltered window into the soul, revealing the essence of their being. Certainly, we all have fundamental needs that necessitate monetary resources - sustenance, shelter, transportation, and more. However, beyond these essentials, how an individual chooses to allocate their financial surplus serves as a stark indicator of their true priorities. It's in this distinction that we unearth the essence of our values. This notion may appear overly simplistic, but it resonates deeply with the wisdom imparted by Jesus when he said, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."  It's a profound reminder that once the necessary items are paid for, what a person does with the money that’s left over will tell you what he esteems more highly than anything else.  Here’s my loving challenge to you today. Let us cease the mere lip service and truly elevate the main thing to its rightful place. When Zig Ziglar was asked what he thought his greatest secret to success was, he replied - “I made sure I had a home court advantage.” He further states, “because what happens at home has a dramatic impact on what you’re going to be able to do out in the world. So I always put my family first. If things are good at home, you have a better chance of being successful out in the world. If you’re worried about what’s happening at home, I guarantee you you will not be nearly as effective out in the world. So putting your family first bolster your success to succeed outside the home.” Why do we want to succeed anyway?   Often, the innermost drive, the deepest motivation, emanates from our desire to provide for and contribute to our family's well-being. We aim to furnish them with security, comfort, and the key to future opportunities. In the end, when we look back at our lives and how we lived, what mattered most will be the love we shared with those that mean the most.  Author Ann Voskamp poetically captures this essence, proclaiming, “We do what we do, because of who or what we love. Love decides.” Not cars, coins, houses, boats, degrees, titles or applause;  it is our family and significant relationships that serve as both the means and the ends of life's journey. Quick question for you. Has there been a time in your life when you felt like you were being led to do something? Not a momentary feeling, but one that hit you and stayed with you; you couldn’t shake it. It could be a small action like reaching out to a friend and asking if there’s anything you could do for them or a bigger life decision like changing careers or starting a new business.  If so, what did you do?  Did you talk to someone? Did you put it through a trusted decision making system – the good ole “Pros vs. Cons” method?  Did you pray about it often?  While the answers will definitely vary among people, I am pretty certain fear and doubt entered the conversation and tried it’s best to keep you from taking action.  The bigger the prompting, the bigger the change, the bigger the moment, the bigger fear and doubt come at us.  But we can also take Faith in knowing the bigger the prompting, the bigger the change, the bigger the moment, the bigger the calling and opportunity to be obedient and doing something about it. This is exactly what happen with the absolute crazy idea to start the Dulci Sweets Co.  A Strength and Nutrition Coach and a Security Specialist get called to open a chocolate and candy company. This is where you chuckle and laugh with Mike and I, not at us.  My point is I could use the next several weekly messages to share the countless reasons doing this made no sense whatsoever. The knowns and unknowns were plenty enough to have us full of fear and doubt.  But, you want to know something pretty cool? Neither of us could shake the thought, feeling and belief for many months of consideration, conversation and prayer. The truth is, it was a calling we couldn't ignore.  We felt a deep, unshakable belief that this was our path – a path that would not only bring sweetness into people's lives but also serve a higher purpose.  So we obeyed the push and took the step. Heck, you could say we jumped and prayed the parachute would open.  Today, as we stand on the cusp of a remarkable milestone, we are thrilled to share the news of our expansion. Our workspace is growing threefold, a testament to the incredible demand for our delectable treats. It's a testament to YOU, our cherished community of customers, corporate partners, and allies in the world of wholesale. When people think of happiness; being busy, hurried, distracted, surrounded by deafening white noise is not typically part of the picture.  Rather, it’s a day where time appears to moves slower, senses are acutely focused on the lightest of sounds and movements, the mind and spirit is quiet and relaxed.   Happiness often includes having the ones you love the most being by your side. Sharing and enjoying the simplest moments found in good conversation and time together.  This is the essence of why Dulci Sweets came into being. Our purpose is clear - to serve as a reminder of life's most precious treasures and to create avenues for celebrating them.  To remember the good times and to continue creating them. To celebrate others and express gratefulness for the relationships we are so fortunate to have. After all, the days and years move fast. This world is operating at warp speed. And if we are not intentional with these things, the world has a way of running us over and snatching it from us.  One of those moments that I recall as I write this is eating watermelon on the front porch stoop with my Grandpa many years ago. I vividly remember the tin dish grandma would put the watermelon in and grandpa had us spit the seeds into. Of course, there was a technique to spitting the seeds out correctly, and Grandpa was a pro. It was a common treat after dinner. The sun beginning to descend and the conversations we shared together.  Nowadays, it’s times eating dinner together as a family. No phones, no iPads, no tv, all electronics removed from reach and distraction.  The simple and good times spent. Family traditions, sweet recipes, genuine interaction, joyful conversations. It's about the heart, the home, the preciousness of time, and the boundless love we share.
