What's Love Got to Do with It?

"What's Love Got to Do with It?"

Throughout my journey, this question has frequently crossed my mind, and its significance has evolved beyond merely being a catchy tune by the late, great Tina Turner (may she be rocking away in heaven today).

Somewhere along the path, it became a trigger for perspective and action. Whether in the workplace, interacting with clients or colleagues, or spending time with my family, that question would surface in my mind.

"What's Love Got To Do With It?"

And in nearly every instance, the answer is unequivocally: EVERYTHING 😊

While this may not be a revelation to you, I believe it serves as a worthy reminder we can all benefit from.

When we pause to contemplate it, Love is the foundation of all that is good and positive in our lives. We understand the principle of reaping what we sow.

As I shared last week, the world mirrors back the energy we emit into it.

Thus, it behooves us to pause and give thoughtful consideration to everything we do – how we do it, why we do it, and when we do it.

In other words, if love genuinely propels the thoughts we think and the actions we take, only goodness can result from it.

Considering the diverse forms of love in various relationships – family, spouse, children, friends, even strangers we encounter – it makes perfect sense to regularly 'check our hearts' to ensure we are leading with love.

So, as we stand on the cusp of Valentine's Day, let us heed the timeless wisdom of Paul's words: "And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love" (1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV).

Consider, if you will, the transformative power of leading with love. Imagine the profound impact we could wield, the lives we could touch and transform, simply by allowing love to permeate our thoughts, words, and deeds.

Picture, if you will, the ripple effect of our actions, reverberating far beyond the confines of our immediate sphere, spreading waves of compassion, understanding, and acceptance.

Indeed, what a wondrous world it would be—a world where every soul is affirmed, cherished, and valued in the warm embrace of love.

And yet, amidst the fervor of love that permeates the air, let us not forget the most crucial recipient of all: ourselves. For one cannot pour from an empty vessel; self-love must precede all else.

In the spirit of this sentiment, I share with you a poignant 'Prayer for Love,’ I found along my way. A reminder of the boundless reservoir of love that resides within each of us:

"God, Remind me that love is always near, because You are never far. When I feel unworthy of love, remind me that You have made me worthy. And when I feel incapable of showing love, help me to remember what You've sacrificed for me. Remind me of how loved I am so I can remind others of how loved they are. In Jesus' name."

With abundant love and sweet blessings,

Brock
