The Power of One Seed Planted Well

Great happenings always seem to start with one person. One conversation. One action.

It truly is remarkable. One seed falls on good soil, and a beautiful and a mighty tree arises. Growing deep roots, spreading out far beyond imagination.

This is exactly what and how things manifest in our lives.

And it’s the very way we were able to raise $28,000 in two weeks for Comfort Cases, an international non-profit organization dedicated to bringing Hope and Dignity to children in foster care.

That result and impact happened because I was introduced to Kenisha Manning by way of her becoming a member of another business I own; Orangetheory Fitness In Charleston, WV.

Not knowing what she does or who she knows, me and my team began to help her improve her health, fitness, and become a better version of herself.

During that process, Kenisha and I built a terrific relationship. Becoming very good friends. Despite the fact that she went to the University Michigan and is a wolverine, and I’m from Ohio and a Buckeye.

Our friendship led to her introducing me to Rob Scheer and the incredible Comfort Cases organization he founded. His story is both heart-breaking and inspiring to say the least.

In short, he endured horrific treatment as a child from his parents and then continued devastation as a child in foster care. And yet, through his heart, will, and Faith he chose to turn that pain into purpose.

If you are reading this, I’m confident you agree that if WE, as a Community and Country, are going to make the necessary changes to not only uphold the values and principles that have made us Great, but KEEP them front and center to ensure WE DO NOT LOSE OUR WAY, We Must take care of OUR Children.

That’s ALL children! Every one of them deserve Love, Dignity, and Hope. Unquestionably!

And the 636 Comfort Cases we packed with staff, members, and other volunteers represents 636 children that now have something brand new. Of their very own. Filled with new pajamas, new blanket, age-appropriate hygiene kit, book and stuffed animal.

Along with a Note that says, You are Brave, You are Strong, and More Loved than you think.

No longer having to accept receiving and using a black trash bag as their suitcase when being moved from one temporary home or facility to another.

And that, our loving and growing Dulci Sweets Community, is what a single seed can do.

It is always wonderful to see and experience God’s love and blessings when people come together to help others.
