When You Step, God Shows Up

There’s a truth I can’t shake this week, and I think it might be for you too:

You will never know what God can do unless you do something that gives Him the opportunity to show you.

Let that settle in your heart for a second.

It’s easy to pray for signs. It’s harder to take the first step before the sign shows up. But sometimes, that's exactly how God works.
We act. He answers.

And one of the clearest pictures of that? Joshua and the Jordan River.

The Israelites were so close to the Promised Land. Just one thing stood between them and their future: a raging, flooded river.

And instead of waiting for the water to calm, God said, “Step in. First.”

Joshua had every reason to hesitate. People were watching. The current was strong. The promise felt risky.

But this wasn’t a moment for safety. It was a moment for obedience.

And what happened?
The moment the priests' feet touched the water, the river stopped flowing. The ground became dry. And a nation walked into their destiny.

Joshua didn’t just cross over. He led others through.
And it all started with a single step.

Faith Isn’t Finished When It Feels Scary—It’s Proven There

I don’t know what river you’re standing in front of right now.

Maybe it’s a calling God has placed on your heart that feels too big.
Maybe it's a hard decision you’ve been praying over for months.
Maybe it's a dream that's lingered long enough and is quietly asking, Is it time?

Here’s what I believe with my whole heart:

“Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” — Philippians 1:6

God doesn’t start and stop.
He begins—and finishes.
But He waits for you to step.

What’s the Step You’re Resisting?

Sometimes obedience looks like a leap.
Sometimes it’s a phone call.
Sometimes it’s a quiet yes when everything in you wants to retreat.

But whatever it is for you, you are not standing alone on that riverbank.
God is with you on the banks, in the water, and all the way through to the other side.

And here’s something we often forget:
Your obedience isn’t just about you.
When you move in faith, you clear a path for others to follow.
You become a living testimony that God still moves, still parts waters, still finishes what He begins.

So… what race is God asking you to run?

• What dream has been stirring in your heart?

• What flood stands in front of your next step?

• What promise awaits you on the other side?

You may not feel strong enough—but His grace is already working within you.
You may not feel ready—but He’s never asked for perfection. Just faith.

So let me ask you this:

Is it time to stop waiting and start walking?

I believe it is.
And I believe He will meet you the moment your feet touch the water.
