What Would NOTHING Get You?

Have you ever found yourself wishing life were easier, only to realize the greatest treasures lie in the challenges we overcome? Sometimes, what we want most is buried beneath the tasks we resist the most. Said another way, what if the MAGIC you’ve been SEEKING is in the WORK you’ve been AVOIDING?

Ouch, right? Re-read that and let it set in. When you’re ready, we’ll dive into a truth that’s as powerful as it is transformational: the secret to a fulfilled, impactful life lies in embracing discipline, excellence, and faith.

You’re not alone if you’ve felt the weight of doubt, disappointment, or the struggle to keep pushing forward. But what if I told you that the very obstacles you face are shaping you for something greater?

YES, it’s an attitude, a perspective, and a decision. But one that every person can choose to make.

Let me borrow some language from legendary college football coach, Nick Saban, and present it to you in the form of four questions and a clear answer…

If you wake up in the morning and feel entitled, what would that get you? NOTHING!

If you think somebody owes you something, what would you get? NOTHING!

If you lose your discipline and your work ethic, what would that get you? NOTHING!

If you fail to prepare and pay attention to detail, what would that get you? NOTHING!

Then NOTHING is more important than staying focused on being the best you can be, no matter what you choose to do.

These truths may sting, but let them settle in. They’re not meant to discourage—they’re meant to awaken you to the power of discipline, excellence, and surrender. Life doesn’t give its best to those who avoid effort; it rewards those who step up, do the work, and trust God to handle the rest.

So, what does this look like in your life? It’s not about perfection; it’s about showing up. Whether it’s tackling that project you’ve been procrastinating on, pouring your heart into relationships, or simply taking the next small step forward, the key is to do it with focus, enthusiasm, and gratitude.

Remember the saying, “If you can’t do it right the first time, when will you have time to do it right again?” Excellence isn’t just about results—it’s about the transformation happening inside you as you honor God in every effort. This is where your character is built, your integrity is refined, and your faith is deepened.

And yes, it’s hard. But it’s in the hard work, the discipline, and the consistency that the greatest blessings emerge. When you surrender your work to God, you align yourself with His will, opening the door to joy and purpose you never thought possible.

Today, I’m inviting you to lean into the work you’ve been avoiding. Not tomorrow. Not someday. Let’s not say I think I’ll wait to do what I need to do tomorrow, when I know I really need to do it today.

Ask yourself: what’s one thing I can do right now to move closer to the person God created me to be? Whatever it is, give it your all.

Let’s not let another day pass us by. Let’s wake up with a commitment to excellence, a heart full of gratitude, and a mindset of surrender. Glorify God in the work, and trust Him with the outcome.

With faith, love, and a heartfelt push toward excellence,

Brock

P.S. The life you dream of isn’t waiting—it’s unfolding in the work you’re willing to do. Stop waiting for the “right time.” The time is now. Give it your all, and watch what happens when you show up fully. Share this with someone who needs encouragement today. Let’s win together!
