Time Never Argues. It Just Tells the Truth.
There’s a lot of “truth” being thrown around these days.
Everybody has an opinion. Everybody has an explanation. And if we’re not careful, we can spend an awful lot of our lives trying to figure out who’s right.
But I’ve found one thing that never needs to raise its voice.
Time.
Time never argues. It just waits.
Give a friendship enough time, and you’ll discover its strength.
Give a habit enough time, and you’ll see where it leads.
Give a business decision, a relationship, a commitment, or even a person’s character enough time, and eventually the truth has a funny way of showing up.
You don’t have to chase it.
So I Try to Run My Life on Two Things
I trust God’s timing. And I make the most of mine.
That’s it.
Simple to say. Much harder to live.
Trust God With His Timing
This one requires faith because, if you’re anything like me, you’d occasionally prefer God to work from your calendar.
Maybe even your watch. 🙂
We want the answer now. The opportunity now. The breakthrough now.
And sometimes we try to force doors open that God hasn’t opened yet, or desperately hold onto something He may be asking us to release.
That’s when this verse has become especially meaningful:
“My times are in your hands.” Psalm 31:15
There’s tremendous freedom in those six words.
I don’t have to force everything.
I don’t have to understand everything.
I can work faithfully, pray expectantly, and trust that God sees the part of the story I cannot.
That takes a lot of weight off our shoulders.
But My Time? That Part Is On Me.
Trusting God’s timing doesn’t mean wasting ours.
Every morning we receive another 24 hours. We don’t know how many more deposits are coming.
So spend them well.
Love your people.
Build something worthwhile.
Make the phone call.
Sit a little longer around the dinner table.
Do meaningful work.
Say “I love you” while the person is there to hear it.
And maybe stop giving so much precious time to things that won’t matter five years from now.
Because eventually, time tells the truth about our priorities too.
What we truly value usually becomes visible in where our time went.
So here’s something I’d genuinely love for you to think about:
If someone looked only at how you spent your time this week, what would they believe matters most to you?
That question got me.
Maybe it will get you too.
We can trust God with what we cannot control while being faithful with what He has already placed in our hands.
Trust His timing. Make the most of yours.
That sounds like a pretty good strategy for a life well lived.
Keep the faith, love your people, and spend your time on what matters most.
Your friend,
Brock
P.S. Football season is back, which means there’s one time-tested truth we can all agree on: good games are even better with extraordinary chocolate nearby. 😉 Scroll down and let us help sweeten every kickoff, timeout, and touchdown. And before you go, hit reply and tell me: What deserves more of your time this season?
