The Mighty Lesson Hidden Inside Opportunity

Hey friends,

Have you ever prayed for an opportunity, only to receive something that looked suspiciously like a problem?

You asked for growth. You got pressure.

You asked for a new door. It came with squeaky hinges, missing instructions, and what appeared to be a mountain parked directly in front of it.

Isn’t that often the way life works?

We tend to imagine opportunity as a giant Las Vegas sign flashing:

“THIS IS IT! NOTHING WILL GO WRONG!”

Wouldn’t that be convenient?

But opportunity rarely announces itself that clearly. More often, it is surrounded by uncertainty, setbacks, hard conversations, and enough obstacles to make us wonder whether we took a wrong turn.

That is why so many opportunities are missed.

People see the problems first, and the problems become larger than the possibility.

But here is the truth worth remembering:

Every meaningful opportunity is surrounded by difficulty.

If opportunity came without risk, effort, or resistance, everyone would pursue it. Everyone would seize it. Everyone would enjoy the reward.

The challenge is not proof that the opportunity is wrong.

Sometimes, the challenge is simply the price of reaching it.

Wowzer! I need to say that again (read it out loud). If not for you, at least for me.

Look Beyond the Problem

Faith does not require us to ignore reality.

It does not mean pretending the mountain is a speed bump or calling a pothole “a fun little road feature.”

Faith sees the problem clearly and still believes God is greater.

It is the childlike confidence that says, “I may not know how this will work, but I know Who is walking with me.”

Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.

That does not mean the road will be easy. It means the difficulty does not get the final word.

Opportunity is often sitting in the middle, surrounded by hurdles, setbacks, adversity, and a few “What in the world do I do now?” moments.

We cannot always go around those things.

Sometimes, we have to walk through them.

That is where perseverance matters.

The hard conversation may lead to healing.

The failed attempt may reveal a better approach.

The closed door may redirect you toward the right one.

The mountain may strengthen you for the opportunity waiting on the other side.

So, here is my encouragement for you today:

Do not let the first problem become your final answer.

Pause. Pray. Look again.

Ask yourself:

What opportunity might be hiding inside this difficulty?

Then take the next faithful step.

Not every obstacle is a stop sign. Some are simply part of the road God is using to lead you forward.

Keep stepping into opportunity with faith, courage, and hope,
