Tear Off the Label Before It Sticks

Hey friends,

Have you ever noticed how quickly we become professional label makers?

Before the coffee finishes brewing...

"This is going to be one of those days."

Traffic?

Bad day.

Unexpected bill?

Bad day.

Someone sends you the dreaded, "Can we talk?" text?

Definitely a bad day.

It's almost impressive how quickly our brains can slap a giant clearance sticker across an entire day before breakfast.

If Amazon sold labels as fast as we hand them out to our circumstances, they'd need many more warehouses.

I've done it.

You've done it.

We've all done it.

But recently I came across one of my favorite promises in Scripture that completely challenged how I think about difficult days.

"As thy days, so shall thy strength be."
Deuteronomy 33:25

Even if you've never opened a Bible before, those few words carry an incredible promise.

They don't say your days will always be easy.

They don't promise smooth roads, overflowing bank accounts, or coworkers who never hit "Reply All."

(We can all pray for that one.)

Instead, they promise something much better.

Whatever the day requires...God will provide the strength to meet it.

Think about that for a second.

What if the unexpected expense isn't destroying your peace...

It's strengthening your trust?

What if the obstacle standing in front of you isn't there to stop you...

It's there to shape you?

See, we often judge our days by how comfortable they are.

God often measures them by how much they transform us.

That's a completely different scorecard.

The harder the workout, the stronger the muscle.

The hotter the fire, the stronger the steel.

The harder the day...

...the greater the opportunity to become the person you'll need to be tomorrow.

Here's the thought I hope you'll carry into next week:

The strength you'll need tomorrow is being built today.

Not next Monday.

Not after vacation.

Not when life finally settles down.

Right here. Right now.

In today's meeting.

Today's parenting challenge.

Today's disappointment.

Today's uncertainty.

Today's long to-do list.

Today's unanswered prayer.

The strength you carry into next week is being forged in the hours ahead of you.

Today is where it comes from.

That's why labeling today as "bad" is so dangerous.

Because labels become lenses.

And lenses determine what we see.

If you call it a bad day...

You'll spend the whole day collecting evidence that you're right.

But if you call it a growth day...

You'll begin noticing something entirely different.

You'll notice patience replacing frustration.

Wisdom replacing worry.

Faith replacing fear.

Character replacing comfort.

Strength replacing doubt.

The circumstances may not change.

But you will.

So today, before the label sticks...

Tear it off.

Replace "bad day" with "building day."

Replace "why me?" with "what's God teaching me?"

Replace "I can't do this" with "God will give me exactly what I need."

Because this isn't just another day on the calendar.

It's the day the Lord has made.

A day filled with opportunities to grow.

To love.

To encourage.

To forgive.

To shine His light.

To become stronger than you were yesterday.

One day you'll look back and realize...

The days you wanted to escape...

Were the very days that prepared you for the life you were praying for.

ONE MORE THING…

You're not walking through today alone.

Many people in this very Dulci community are quietly tearing the same label off the same kind of day.

So let's encourage one another.

Let's be present.

Let's be faithful.

Let's do good.

Let's be a light.

Remember this...

The day you almost labeled "bad"...

May become the day you someday thank God for.
