Take Heart

Have you ever walked into a moment knowing it wouldn’t be easy?

A hard conversation.
A diagnosis.
A season where nothing feels steady.

There’s something about knowing trouble is ahead that makes your heart beat a little faster.

Now imagine sitting with Jesus… and hearing Him say:

“In this world, you will have trouble.”

Not might. Not maybe.

Will.

That’s where this story begins.

On the night before the cross, Jesus gathered His closest friends.

They had already seen hardship. They weren’t strangers to rejection or pressure. Following Him had already cost them something.

And yet… Jesus doesn’t sugarcoat what’s coming.

He tells them plainly: more trouble is ahead.

But then He says something that changes everything:

“Take heart.”

Pause there for a second.

Not avoid trouble.
Not figure it all out.
Not be stronger.

Just… take heart.

Why would He say that?

Peace in the Middle, Not the Absence of It

Jesus didn’t promise a life free from pain.
He promised peace within it.

That’s a different kind of peace.

Not the kind that depends on circumstances…
The kind that anchors you when everything else feels uncertain.

And here’s the deeper truth:

That peace isn’t found in perfect situations.
It’s found in a person.

In Him.

He spoke about love.
He spoke about the Spirit.
He spoke about being with us, even when it feels like everything is falling apart.

And He didn’t whisper these words nervously.

He spoke them with certainty.

Because He knew something they didn’t fully understand yet…

Friday Was Coming… But So Was Sunday

Jesus knew what was ahead.

The betrayal.
The suffering.
The cross.

He knew the weight of Friday.

But He also knew the victory of Sunday.

That death would not have the final say.
That the grave would not hold Him.
That what looked like the end… was actually the beginning.

And that’s why He could say, with full confidence:

“Take heart. I have overcome the world.”

Not I will.
Not I might.

I have.

Let me ask you something, friend…

What are you walking through today?

Where does life feel heavy?
Where does uncertainty creep in?
Where are you carrying something you weren’t meant to carry alone?

Because this message… it’s not just for the disciples.

It’s for you.

Your struggles are real.
Your challenges matter.
Your pain isn’t dismissed.

But here’s the truth you need to hear this week:

They are not your master.

Jesus is.

And He has already overcome the very thing you’re worried about.

So what would it look like… to actually take heart?

To trust Him in the middle of the unknown?
To believe that your story isn’t finished yet?
To live like Sunday is coming… even when it still feels like Friday?

This Holy Week, we don’t just remember the cross.

We remember the promise.

We remember the words spoken in the tension, in the uncertainty, in the waiting:

Take heart.

Because the same Jesus who walked to the cross…
walked out of the grave.

Death has been defeated.
Hope is alive.
And your story is still being written.

This week, I want to invite you into something simple, but powerful:

👉 Take a few quiet minutes.
👉 Reflect on what you’re facing.
👉 And ask yourself honestly: Am I carrying this alone, or am I trusting Him with it?

Then, if you’re willing… send a message. Share your heart. Start a conversation.

Because we’re not meant to walk this journey alone.

You are not forgotten.
You are deeply loved.

And no matter what you’re facing today…

Take heart.

Sunday is coming.

With gratitude and belief in you,
Brock

P.S. If this message stirred something in your heart, don’t keep it to yourself. Share it with someone who might need a reminder that hope is still alive. And if you’re looking for a simple way to remind someone they are seen, loved, and valued… this is what we mean by Goodness Created to be Shared.
