From Our Dulci Table to Yours

Happy ThanksGiving my friend,

You ready for a hard truth wrapped in sweet encouragement?

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” — James 1:22

Whew. James doesn’t pull punches, does he?

That’s why I love this book—it doesn’t just inspire; it calls us up.

It’s not about being the best Bible trivia champ.
It’s not about checking the devotionals off the list.
It’s not even about how many verses you can quote from memory.

Here’s the better question:

Are you applying what you already know?

Spiritual Snacking vs. Soul Nourishment

You can listen to every podcast.
Take all the notes.
Highlight all the devotionals.

But if you don’t act…
If you don’t forgive…
If you don’t speak up…
If you don’t obey…

…it just becomes background noise.

A friend of mine once shared something his mentor said that stopped me in my tracks:

“Education without action is simply entertainment.”

That one stings a bit, huh?

It made me pause and ask—am I consuming or living?

And not just spiritually. It applies to every area of life:

✔️ You know walking is good for you… are you walking?
✔️ You know your body needs rest… are you honoring it?
✔️ You know your thoughts drift toward fear… are you renewing your mind?

This isn’t about shame. It’s about alignment.

Because when your faith and your actions hold hands?
That’s when clarity walks in. That’s when peace settles in.
That’s when things start to make sense again.

This Week’s Gentle Nudge

So, as Thanksgiving rolls in (with all its cranberry sauce and casserole glory), I invite you to chew on this:

What’s one truth you’ve heard this year that you haven’t yet lived out?

Don’t overthink it. Don’t wait for the perfect moment.

Just take a step.

Make the call.
Say the prayer.
Write the note.
Release the grudge.
Go for the walk.
Take the nap (yes, that counts).

Simple truth, faithfully applied, changes everything.

When You Look Around the Table…

This week, as you gather with your people—your loud, imperfect, beautiful people—take it all in.

The little ones underfoot. The uncle who talks too loud. The one who brings the “experimental” stuffing every year (bless it). The full hearts, the full plates, the full rooms.

Let the gratitude spill over—not just on Thursday, but in the ordinary days that follow.

Not just in what you say… but in how you show up.

Let your thankfulness move from your lips to your life.

Let’s not just be hearers. Let’s be doers.
Let’s live it. Apply it. And share it.

Because Goodness is Created to be Shared.

With heartfelt thanks for every moment you’ve let Dulci speak into your life,
Your friend,
Brock
