Evaluating Your Wins, Wars, and Witnesses

As we approach the end of 2024, the inevitable reflection sets in. We think back to the wins, the losses, the battles that left us feeling victorious and the ones that had us wondering if we were fighting an uphill battle with no armor. But here’s my question for you: How are you reflecting on the past year to prepare for the one ahead? I’m not talking about your typical New Year’s resolutions, where you promise to go to the gym (again) or swear off sweets for the 17th time (trust me, you’ll need that chocolate, and Dulci Sweets is proven to be good for the body and mind anyway). I’m talking about something deeper, more meaningful—the kind of reflection that fuels real, lasting growth.

This past year, I’ve had the privilege of being part of a group of extraordinary individuals through Truth At Work, a group of like-hearted leaders, business owners, and entrepreneurs who are committed to personal, professional, and spiritual growth. Each month, we do something simple but powerful: We reflect on our Wins, Wars, and Witnesses. It’s a process that’s done wonders for me, and I think it could do wonders for you too.

Let’s face it: In the hustle of daily life, it’s easy to miss the lessons that are right in front of us. We move from one task to the next, always striving to do more, be more, and achieve more. But in all that, we often miss the chance to pause, to reflect, and to appreciate the moments that truly shape us. Here’s where the Wins, Wars, and Witnesses exercise comes in—it’s all about looking back at your experiences and digging deeper into the lessons they offer.

Trust me, it’s not about having everything figured out or setting some lofty goals. It’s about learning from what’s happened and using that insight to fuel the next steps. After all, the past year is a treasure trove of lessons just waiting to be unpacked.

The Wins—these are the moments that made you say, “Wow, I can’t believe I did that!” Big or small, they all count. Maybe you got that promotion, nailed a big project, or managed to keep your plants alive for a full season (seriously, that’s a win). Whatever it was, celebrating these wins reminds you of your potential and your strength. It’s easy to brush them off or move on to the next task, but pausing to reflect on your wins helps you appreciate how far you’ve come. And trust me, that appreciation is the fuel you need to tackle whatever 2025 throws your way.

Then, there are the Wars. These are the struggles, the moments that had you feeling like you were in a battle you didn’t sign up for. Maybe it was a tough project, a personal challenge, or just the daily grind. But here’s the thing: while those wars are surely no fun, they don’t defeat you—they shape you. They teach you resilience, patience, and perseverance. By reflecting on them, you can see how much you’ve grown. You’ll realize that every battle, no matter how hard, has made you stronger and more capable of facing whatever comes next.

And finally, the Witnesses. These are the moments where you saw God’s presence in your life. Whether it was an answered prayer, an unexpected blessing, or just a sense of peace in the middle of chaos, these moments are the ones that remind you that you are never alone. It’s easy to miss these moments when you are running and gunning, but when you stop and reflect, you realize that even in the hardest times, God is right there with you, guiding and supporting you.

So, what does all of this reflection mean for 2025? Simple: growth isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress. By reflecting on your wins, wars, and witnesses, you gain the clarity, resilience, and purpose to approach the new year with intention. It’s not about having everything figured out or making a perfect plan. It’s about showing up, ready to learn and grow, no matter what. Understanding that progress is built one Intentional Today at a time.

Here’s the best part—Wins, Wars, and Witnesses isn’t a one-time deal. It’s a monthly practice. This simple exercise is something you can do every month in 2025 to keep yourself grounded, focused, and ready to tackle whatever comes your way. It doesn’t take long—just a few minutes to sit down, reflect, and jot down your thoughts. But those few minutes can lead to big changes.

So, I encourage you to join me in making Wins, Wars, and Witnesses a regular part of your routine in 2025. Let’s pause, reflect, and use the lessons of 2024 to fuel the success of 2025. Take a few minutes TODAY—maybe while enjoying a sweet treat from Dulci Sweets (because, let’s be honest, it’s impossible to reflect effectively without chocolate that produces goodness created to be shared)—and think about your wins, wars, and witnesses. Write them down, reflect on them, and let them guide you as you step into the new year with clarity and purpose.

I’d love to hear about your reflections—share your Wins, Wars, and Witnesses with us on social media, or shoot me a message. Let’s support each other as we make 2025 a year of true growth, resilience, and purpose.

Wishing you all the clarity, growth, and sweet moments you can handle in 2025!

Warmly,

Brock

P.S. Experience + Reflection = Insight. Let’s take those lessons and turn them into progress.
