Dad Jokes & Chocolate

When does a joke become a dad joke?
When it becomes apparent.

Okay, now that we’ve groaned together—let’s talk about Father’s Day.

Sure, Dad may act like he doesn’t want much. He’ll tell you not to go out of your way. But deep down, he’s hoping for a little celebration… and possibly some chocolate he doesn’t have to share.

Every dad has a playbook—part wisdom, part wit, part complete mystery. And if you're lucky, you've heard a few of these gems:

  • “Measure twice, cut once.”

  • “Don’t use a hammer when a handshake will do.”

  • “Ask your mom.”

Whether he’s the strong, silent type or the king of corny punchlines, Dad’s presence leaves an impression. And as the years go by, it’s not the gadgets or gear that we remember most. It’s the way he stayed late helping with your science fair volcano. How he taught you to check the oil (even if your car doesn’t leak). And yes—how he insists on mowing the lawn like it’s a competitive sport.

Dads have this unique superpower: they make ordinary moments stick with you for life.

🤣 DAD WISDOM (REAL & RIDICULOUS)

In honor of the fellas who raised us, here’s a quick round-up of classic Dad-isms and “Dad Joke” theology:

Dad Quotes That Might Be in Proverbs (But Aren’t):
“The early bird gets the worm… but then again, the worm was up early too.”

“Don’t worry about gas prices—just don’t let the tank drop below half.”

“You can’t start a fire without spark… but you can start a fire with too much lighter fluid.”

“If it’s not broken, don’t fix it. If it is broken… duct tape.”

“If you know where you're headed, slow roads still get you there.”

And of course:
“What do you call a fake noodle? An Impasta.

“What did the buffalo say to his son when he left for college? Bison.

“I grilled a chicken for two hours and still couldn’t get it to tell me why it crossed the road.”

“Tried to organize a professional procrastinators club...”

We still haven’t met. 🤪

We’re not saying chocolate is better than Dad’s jokes… but chocolate doesn't roll its eyes at itself.

Btw, if you chuckled at all, good news, I’ll be here next week too.

If you didn’t laugh, just remember I’m a dad too.

Because Dad Doesn’t Need Another Tie... or Leaf Blower. Give Him the Good Stuff

Here’s the truth: Dads like chocolate too.

And they especially love Dulci Sweets when it shows up with:

  • A message that says, “You’re the reason I laugh at jokes I don’t even understand.”

  • A bite of nostalgia that brings back simpler days.

  • A thoughtful gift that didn’t come from the hardware aisle.

Father’s Day is the perfect time to give Dad something sweet, something meaningful, and something he won’t pretend not to cry over.

So skip the necktie this year. Skip the coffee mug. Skip the novelty golf balls.

Instead, give Dad something he’ll remember.

After all, he’s the guy who taught you to ride a bike, shake a hand firmly, and hold the flashlight just right when he’s fixing something under the sink.

This Father’s Day, let’s honor Dad with a gift that says:
“Thanks for the love, the laughs, and the life lessons... even the confusing ones.”

Resident comedian and your friend,

Brock

P.S. Be the favorite child this year. Give Dad Dulci—because honestly, nobody needs a 6th grilling apron.
(Unless it says “#1 Dad Who Loves Dulci Sweets”—then maybe.)
