Celebrating Everyday Love

Hey friend,

You know what kind of love I think deserves a standing ovation? The kind that doesn’t need a holiday to exist.

This week, as heart-shaped balloons float through every store aisle, I want to take a moment to spotlight the quiet, powerful love stories happening right under our noses.

Not just romantic ones, though those are beautiful too. But the kind of love that doesn’t always get posted about. The kind that gets lived.

Valentine’s Day can feel like it belongs to couples. But the truth? Love is so much bigger. It shows up in friendships that span decades. In the hands of a grandmother folding her famous pie crust, just because she knows it’s your favorite. In the friend who texts, "You were on my heart today." In the teacher who sees your child and believes in them.

That’s everyday love. It may not sparkle like diamonds, but it anchors us, lifts us, and reminds us we’re not alone.

A few years back, one of our team members shared how she came home from the hospital after a tough season and found her porch overflowing with little gifts: soup, flowers, chocolates, encouraging notes, even someone who mowed her lawn. No signatures. No spotlight.

Just people loving her in the quiet. That’s the kind of love we’re lifting up this week.

I want to ask you something that may feel simple, but it holds a lot of weight:

• Who in your life loves you without fanfare?

• Where have you felt held, seen, supported—even if it was unspoken?

• Who do you quietly show up for, without needing recognition?

In other words, Where Is Love Hiding in Plain Sight?

This week, take a minute to celebrate that kind of love:

• Hug your mom extra tight.

• Text your best friend a memory.

• Leave a little note for your spouse or your child.

• Drop off a treat to that neighbor who always looks out for you.

We were created for love in all its forms. And the everyday kind? That’s often the most powerful.

Not loud. Not perfect. Just faithful.

And when we live that way—choosing compassion, showing up, serving others in the small things—we get to be part of something holy. A love that looks a lot like Jesus. One that is present, sacrificial, and never self-seeking.

That kind of love isn’t seasonal. It’s a lifestyle.

So this Valentine’s, let’s celebrate all the ways love lives.
