A Story Worth Exploring

“Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29 ESV

For us to truly grasp the significance of that verse, I want to present a snapshot of the story of God up to this point.

In the beginning God Created a perfect world full of beauty, peace, and purpose–humanity was his masterpiece, designed to walk in perfect harmony with God.

Like so many of us, humanity made a choice they couldn’t undo and turned away from God, and the world broke.

Here’s the incredible thing–God didn’t give up. In fact He never has. Instead, He launched a rescue mission to bring us back to Him.

He chose a people, gave them laws to guide them and offered sacrifices to cover their mistakes.

And over centuries He sent reminders through prophets, that His love never fails and that a Savior was coming to restore what was broken.

Then one day, that Savior came, and Jesus showed up.

When John the Baptist saw Him he said. “Look, the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”

If Jesus had social media, that would be His bio–Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, because that’s the heart of the God story.

Jesus came to take the weight of our failures, regrets, our doubts off of our shoulders. Forever!

So whether you have a relationship with God, or don’t, or perhaps you used to, because life got messy, or dare I say your faith got messy, I just want you to know that the God available to ALL of us today, is the same God who never gives up.

The same God that loves you unconditionally and wants nothing more than to have a relationship with you.

Let me add this–it’s more than okay to doubt and struggle with your faith. It’s natural, and when done with an open heart, can be healthy.

How? Because God can handle your doubts. And doubt can be a pathway for a deeper and more meaningful faith.

Frustration and Fatih can coexist.

So what’s weighing you down today?

Regret about a broken relationship, something you did, something you prayed for that God has not done, or the exhaustion of trying to make life work on your own.

Whatever it is, Jesus came for that. He came for You!

You don’t have to have all the answers or BELIEVE all of that yet, but what if this story is True?

What if, the God, who created the world, who never gives up, who sent His son to take away your sins by completing the ultimate and permanent sacrifice, then rose Him from the dead, is waiting for you?

I would say, that’s a story worth exploring.
